Street-legal LSVs for Savannah
Georgia lets a local government open its streets to golf carts by ordinance, and Savannah has not done so, so a standard golf cart cannot use city streets. A street-legal low-speed vehicle (LSV) is different: state law allows LSVs on roads posted at 35 mph or less. Every Backyard Escapism cart is built as an LSV, in 4, 6 and 8 seat layouts with lithium batteries.

Savannah golf cart questions
Can I drive a golf cart on Savannah streets?
Not a standard golf cart. Georgia leaves it to each city to allow golf carts by ordinance, and Savannah has not passed one. A street-legal LSV is treated differently under state law.
Where can an LSV go in Savannah?
Georgia law allows low-speed vehicles on roads with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less, and bars them from roads posted above 35 mph.
What counts as an LSV in Georgia?
A four-wheeled vehicle with a top speed above 20 mph and no more than 25 mph, built to the federal safety standards for low-speed vehicles in 49 C.F.R. 571.500.
What is the difference between a golf cart and an LSV?
A low-speed vehicle (LSV) is built to federal safety standards, with a VIN, seat belts, lights and mirrors, and is titled and registered like a car. Our carts are built as street-legal LSVs.
