How to Customize Golf Carts With Backyard Escapism

All our electric golf carts for sale feature lithium batteries, a 10.1-inch waterproof touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, full LED lighting, and four-wheel disc brakes. That’s the standard. From there, you can upgrade the cart to your liking. It’s a very intuitive step-by-step process. Here’s how it works. 

Step 1) Decide on Seat Count

You’ll see a handful of options here on this page. Pick a 4-seater golf cart, 6-seater golf cart, or 8-seater golf cart that catches your eye to get started. You’ll be brought to a product page, at which point you’ll click the button that says “Customize.”

Step 2) Add a Lift

Standard golf carts are 77 inches tall. You can add a 6-inch lift kit to take it up to 83 inches. You can make lifted carts a little shorter by choosing 12-inch wheels/road tires. 8-seater carts only come in standard height options for safety reasons. 

Step 3) Choose Your Exterior Color (and Finish)

There are tons of colors to choose from, and you can even provide your desired Pantone color for a custom golf cart if you have something ultra-specific in mind. We can also help put a design on your cart if you’d like. You’ll choose a glossy or matte finish, and then you can choose the color of your roof as well. 

Step 4) Upgrade the Wheels if You Wish

You can upgrade to 14-inch alloy wheels if you’d like. You’ll be greeted by a few options if you take that route.

Step 5) Pick Your Tires

Think about where you’re going to drive your golf cart - on the road or the golf course? Pick the road/golf tires. Or, create an all-terrain golf cart with off-road tires. 

Step 6) Select Your Seat Style and Color

Seats come with 2-point seatbelts or standard shoulder seatbelt styles. You can add adjustable armrests if you’d like. Then, you’ll pick a seat color - there are tons of options so you can get really specific. We even let you customize the stitching and/or piping to make the cart your own. Add headrests if you’d like - there’s no difference in cost. 

Step 7) Decide on a Battery

We only use lithium batteries in designing your custom golf cart. This is the industry standard for longevity and low maintenance. But you can upgrade to a 206ah battery for 2x extended range and a top speed of 28 mph.

Step 8) Finish With Any Add-Ons

Brush guards, front storage baskets, a full golf kit, seat embroidery, soundbars, utility beds, running boards, roof/underglow lighting, weather enclosures - the possibilities are endless here at Backyard Escapism.
