What do I need to drive an LSV on Siesta Key?
A valid driver's license, plus a title, registration and Florida insurance with at least $10,000 PIP and $10,000 PDL. Sarasota County's Sheriff's Office shares the state's guide to owning an LSV.
What equipment does an LSV need?
A windshield, VIN, a seat belt for each seat, exterior mirrors, reflex reflectors, headlamps, a parking brake, tail and stop lamps, and front and rear turn signals. Our carts are built with this equipment.
What is the difference between a golf cart and an LSV?
Under Florida law a golf cart cannot go faster than 20 mph, while a low-speed vehicle (LSV) has a top speed between 20 and 25 mph. An LSV has a VIN, seat belts, lights and mirrors, and is titled, registered and insured like a car. Our carts are built as street-legal LSVs.
