Wilmington golf cart questions
Can I drive a street-legal cart on Wilmington streets?
Yes, if it is a registered and insured LSV. North Carolina allows LSVs on streets posted 35 mph or less, and lets them cross faster roads at an intersection.
What equipment does North Carolina require on an LSV?
Headlamps, stop lamps, turn signals, tail lamps, reflectors, a parking brake, rearview mirrors, a windshield, wipers, a speedometer, seat belts and a VIN, all kept in working order. Our carts are built with that equipment.
Can I convert my own golf cart into an LSV?
Not by yourself. NCDMV says a licensed manufacturer must do the upfit, issue a 17-character VIN and a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin, and meet federal and state LSV requirements.
Can I drive a regular golf cart in Wilmington?
North Carolina defines a golf cart as unable to go faster than 20 mph and lets each city decide by ordinance whether to allow them on streets posted 35 mph or less. Nobody under 16 may drive one on a public street. Check with the City of Wilmington before driving a non-LSV golf cart on public streets.
Is there a golf cart dealer in Wilmington?
We don't sell through dealers. You design your cart online, we build it, and we deliver across the Cape Fear region, including Wilmington. Mobile techs come to you for service. Your rep confirms the delivery window when you order.
